The city’s Murfreesboro 2035 plan describes “the area north of MTSU that is bisected in part by Old Lascassas Highway and New Lascassas Highway (TN SR 96)” as “primarily composed of student and multi-family housing.” It proposes an MTSU Student Village: as older complexes are redeveloped, the plan says they should follow a master plan with more shops, entertainment and recreation within walking distance of the campus, drawn up with university planners.
