Attendance zone and feeder schools

Check any address on the RCS 2026-27 zone map, linked from the district’s bus routes and school zones page, or call RCS Transportation at 615-893-5815, ext. 22100.

On the district’s 2026-27 zone map, the Oakland High zone takes in nearly all of the Oakland Middle zone and part of the Whitworth-Buchanan Middle zone.

The map also marks a Riverdale High and Oakland High dual zone, where students may attend either school. RCS created dual zones for high school students rezoned from Rockvale, Riverdale, Smyrna or Blackman high schools during 2025-26, and families who wanted to return to their previous school had to apply by April 1, 2026, according to the Rutherford Choice page.

These shares are measured from the district’s map layers; zones follow streets, not city limits, so always check the exact address.
