Where it is: Cannonsburgh Village

Cannonsburgh Village is the city’s pioneer village at 312 S. Front St., south of downtown. The city says it represents about 100 years of early Tennessee life, from the 1830s to the 1930s. Buildings you can walk through or past on Harvest Days include:

  • a gristmill and a schoolhouse
  • a general store, a doctor’s office and a blacksmith’s shop
  • the Wedding Chapel, the University House and the Leeman House
  • a telephone operator’s house, a caboose and a museum
  • the World’s Largest Cedar Bucket

The village takes its name from Murfreesboro’s first name, Cannonsburgh. Our history and landmarks guide has the story.
